Dear Sir/Madam,

In reference to your recent email, please note that I supplied the requested information with my initial submission. Nevertheless, I am resending all relevant documents for your convenience.

The attached email includes:

  • My booking confirmation with Trip.com,
  • The selected seats with Qatar Airways,
  • Confirmation of the seat upgrade and associated cost, and
  • My bank statement showing receipt for the payment made directly to Qatar Airways from my nan k account.

The primary issue remains that only one of the four upgraded seats I booked and paid for was provided. Of the remaining three seats, one was reassigned to a poor seat at the back of the aircraft without consultation. As a result, I not only lost the upgraded experience I paid for but also misplaced my headphones when disembarking, as I left the flight frustrated and unaware they were missing.

Despite being a Platinum member with Virgin, I had to argue for lounge access and spend additional time at the airport disputing seat allocations with your staff, who initially refused to rectify the issue. This experience caused significant inconvenience, stress, and disappointment.

My refund request is based on the following:

  1. The seats were purchased and paid for directly with Qatar Airways in March, well in advance of my September flights.
  2. I spent over two hours at airports in Brisbane, Doha, and Johannesburg attempting to resolve the issue with your staff.
  3. The seats I was allocated were not those I purchased, and in at least one case, I was not even provided with extra legroom.
  4. I provided a full copy of my receipt from Qatar Airways but was told there was no record of payment in your system.
  5. Your team was quick to reassign the seats I paid for but slow and reluctant to correct the situation or offer an appropriate upgrade as compensation for the inconvenience caused.

This was my first experience flying with Qatar Airways, and unfortunately, it has been a deeply disappointing one. Had I been aware of these issues or received accurate information about the seat allocations, I would likely have chosen another airline.

I respectfully request that this matter be properly reviewed and resolved, including an appropriate full refund for the seats not provided.

This is now multiple attempts to contact your airline to resolve this matter.
